Families

Explore technology together.

STEMTEQ is developing hands-on electronics experiences for curious learners and the adults who support them. Build, ask questions, investigate surprises, and discover how everyday technology works.

Our initial program focuses on grades 6–8, with guidance being designed for parents, grandparents, and homeschool families.

You can learn alongside your learner

You do not need to have every answer to encourage useful thinking. Ask what your learner expects to happen, what they notice, and what they could check next.

Adult guidance is being developed to explain activities and technical ideas while leaving room for learners to make decisions and develop independence.

Real components. Meaningful questions.

The twelve-session electronics course-in-a-kit under development connects component recognition, circuit building, measurement, troubleshooting, and microcontroller-based projects.

The aim is to help learners understand their choices, explain their results, and use what they discover to build something of their own.

When the first attempt does not work

Pause, compare, measure, and ask questions. When a first attempt does not work, the result provides evidence that helps the learner identify the problem and test a solution. It is part of developing technical skill—not evidence that the learner lacks it.

Make a prediction

“What do you think will happen? What makes you think that?”

Look for evidence

“What changed? What stayed the same? What could we observe or measure?”

Choose the next check

“What might explain that result? How could we check one possibility?”

Make room for curiosity

Time to repeat an activity, explain a discovery, or explore a new question can be as valuable as completing the next step. Flexible pacing is part of the program’s design.

As skills grow, learners can move toward modifying designs, combining ideas, and testing their own solutions within the activity’s safety guidance.

Current development status

The program and supporting materials are in development. Physical builds and instructions are being prepared for validation before commercial release. Pricing, availability, and release dates are not yet announced.
